Modal Cobalt 8 Patches for Ambient and Techno – “Minerals” Sound Pack
“Minerals” is a sound pack for Modal’s virtual analog synthesizer. This compilation features 70 new Modal Cobalt 8 patches for electronic music. Included are over twenty pads and strings, a broad selection of basses and leads, alongside several dub-stabs and arpeggiators. All presets are suited to Ambient, Electronica, and Techno but will equally fit in other genres, too.
Broad sound palette
Choose from numerous pads ranging from warm ambiances up to heavy drone-like textures, as well as complex IDM leads and propulsive arpeggios. Of course, there is also a selection of powerful basses, some dub stabs, and effect sounds.
Modulations from subtle to complex
Most of the patches in this sound pack feature extensive modulation routings. But instead of boring mod-wheel-controls-vibrato assignments, you can reshape the character of the patches in no time. Use mod-wheel, aftertouch, and velocity to perform expressively.

Easy installation
Before installing any sound packs, please make sure to backup your existing banks, first. In order to install the Modal Carbon8 patches, unzip the downloaded folder to a location of your choice.
After connecting your Cobalt 8 with a computer, please open the MODALapp and navigate to “preset manager”.
Now choose the bank in which you want to copy the patches (e.g. Bank 4). Once you’ve chosen the bank, right-click on it in the app and you’ll see export/import. Please select import, then choose the unzipped folder containing the Minerals sound pack, and confirm. The transfer should start immediately and the patches will eventually show up in your Carbon 8 synthesizer.
